RCVS Practice Standards Scheme
What is an RCVS accredited practice?
RCVS set up the accreditation scheme in 2005 to promote and maintain high standards of veterinary care.
To volunteer for this initiative, practices undergo rigorous assessment, through providing both evidence and from a physical site visit every four years (although spot checks can also occur during this timeframe).
In order to maintain their accreditation practices must meet and maintain a high level of specific standards, some of these standards revolve around patient care, cleanliness and sterility, staff training and practice development.

What is the Practice Standards Scheme?
This is a voluntary initiative for veterinary clinics in the UK to accredit their practice.
By setting high standards with regular assessments, the PSS aims to ensure the highest standard of care are promoted and maintained in these clinics.
PSS provides clients with peace of mind when choosing a veterinary practice and provides them with a more informed choice on veterinary care for their pet.
PSS Awards
In addition to accreditation, veterinary practices can also voluntarily put themselves forward for specific awards.
