Passionate About Protecting Our Planet
We are committed to reducing the key environmental impacts associated with the veterinary industry and to the continual improvement of our environmental performance, from the services we provide to the carbon footprint of the clinic.
To help achieve this, we are supported by ‘Investors in the Environment’ and ‘Eco Offset‘, received Green Accreditation in 2022, and are still continuing to achieve this year on year.

Innovative and sustainable parasite treatment for your pet
We believe great veterinary care involves looking after your pet, but also the world they live in.
Mayne Vets focuses on individualised, risk based prescribing of parasite treatments for your pet – use what is needed, and nothing more. Gone are the days of prescribing routine year round treatments, instead the focus is on tailoring to the individual pet and owners lifestyle. One major factor behind this is the increasing evidence of the damage that widespread and routine use of these treatments is doing to our ecosystems.
The Green Plan gives you the benefits of unlimited consultations, but with a ‘test not treat’ approach to parasite management offering regular worm egg counts and discounts on lung worm testing. If you are interested in compassionate, individualised care and a parasiticide free approach to pet care, the Green Plan is for you!
It’s not just pet care we are committed to, but also planet care.
We work with our staff, customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies and neighbors to meet these objectives:
- Meet and where possible exceed all environmental regulations relevant to our organisation and its activities
- Increase cost-effectiveness by reducing our consumption of energy and raw materials
- Reduce waste, pollution and noise both locally and in the wider environment
- Systematically assess all aspects of our company
- Set targets for measurable annual improvements
- Make our progress available for independent assessment
- Embrace environmentally conscious behaviours and protocols within the clinic
Further information and detail on these topics can be found in our Green Procurement Policy and Environmental Policy.
